Season 5 is off to a great start on LOST. Episode 3, entitled 'Jughead' answered some of our much pondered questions, and yet still kept us asking "what the heck is this about?" Here is my take on some of the things I noticed and some of the things I wonder about:
1. I'll start with a biggie - Mrs. Hawking! While we didn't see her as we know her, I do believe she made an appearance in this episode. Daniel Faraday meets Ellie (the blonde girl with the gun who takes him to the warhead) and mentions that she reminds him of someone! I wonder who that could be??? I say she reminds him of his mom because it is his mom - Mrs. Ellie Hawking (possibly Eloise Hawking - remember Faraday's rat named Eloise)!
2. We also find out that Mr. Charles Widmore is stationed on the island in his younger years. Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if Charles and Ellie hooked up on the island? Is it possible they made a baby - maybe Daniel Faraday - which would mean that Penny is his sister. Could this be one of the reasons Mr. Widmore has been funding his research? And who is Penny's mom??? Guess we'll have to wait to find out.
3. Baby Charlie! Desmond and Penny have a baby and name him Charlie! Congratulations to them! But is he named after Desmond's long lost island rocker friend who died at the hand of Patchy or is the young boy named after Penny's dad Charles Widmore?
4. Love the painting Mr. Widmore! But we've all seen that polar bear/namaste painting hanging in your office before, OR HAVE WE???. Just had to point it out! The first pic is from Jughead.
This one is from "Flashes Before Your Eyes"
5. Daniel confesses his love for Charlotte - ahhh how sweet. But if he loves her so much, why isn't he telling her why she's sick?
6. Latin - why is it necessary for the Others to learn Latin? Well, let's see what we know about Latin - it was orininally spoken in Ancient Rome (maybe this has something to do with the big foot statue); the popularity of speaking Latin began to decline after the 16th century; Latin is still used in the Catholic Church; and things of a scientific nature are often given Latin names
7. Juliet sure is sneaky. She knows Latin! She knows Richard! She knows Richard has been on the island for a very long time. I think she has more than just a clue about what's going on. But, she hasn't been there that long - I wonder how much she really knows. She did choose to stay behind for a reason!
8. Who else has been looking for Daniel Faraday in Oxford? And who the heck was that random guy who followed Desmond into his workshop?
9. It all makes sense now!!! Now we know why Richard Alpert showed up at Locke's birth. Locke tells Richard his birthdate and Richard follows him around throughout life. We even saw Locke leave his compass behind before the flash, which is later presented to Locke in the foster home by Richard when Locke was just a lil' Locke (yet Locke chooses the knife over all the other items because the event hasn't happened yet).
10. This would suck - Desmond goes to see Faraday's experiment gone wrong - a woman named Theresa Spencer = anagram "Each Represents" (thanks Jopinionated for that great catch) is lying there in bed stuck in her head. Now I know the writers are way toooooo creative, but what if everything on LOST was just Daniel's experiment gone wrong and LOST was just a story inside of that poor woman's head. Geez that would suck!
11. Miles has super powers - So did he get them from being Pierre Chang's kid and growing up on this crazy island or what? He can clearly hear dead people, Daniel knows all about it, and isn't at all surprised.
12. Why Jughead - who names a warhead Jughead anyway? The obvious thought is that Jughead comes from the Archie Comics. Well, let's look at a few possibilities: From the Archie Comics, Jughead's First name was Forsythe which actually means 'fear' 'peace.' OK, that could be a possibility. Jughead's middle name is "Pendleton," the name of a military base in CA. What else could Jughead stand for? Jughead always wore a crown and get this, "The dot and dash that adorn his hat constitute the Morse code symbol for the letter A." Interesting!!! Wait there's more - Jughead's Time Police was a series that began in 1990 featuring Jughead as a hero of the 29th century and a member of the Time Police, an organization that ensures history to remain the same for the future's sake. Jughead gains the ability to travel to the past and future at will. The main villain was the time-travelling sorceress Morgan le Fay.
That's about all I have. Hope you've enjoyed. Please feel free to send me your questions.

9

First, I must let you know that 9 is my favorite number which makes this even more exciting for me. With that aside, I believe that Tim Burton has created his very best animated masterpiece! The title of the movie is called 9 and opens on 9-9-09. The trailer is one of the coolest I have ever seen in animation. The movie is being produced by Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (the guy who did that really kick ass Angelina Jolie movie, Wanted). The idea for the movie came from the original 2005 Oscar Nominated short film by Shane Acker, who conveniently will be directing this film as well. In addition to the really cool computer animation, the film has awesome music. I swear the preview reminds me of a Tool music video.
So check this out - Here is the actual preview for 9 coming out 9-9-09:
Now take a look at the actual short animated film by Shane Acker that gave life to 9:

LOST Predictions and assumptions

LOST's season 5 premiere was undoubtedly amazing. But I have this sense that many people are scratching their heads and wondering, "huh?" I've already received phone calls, texts and IMs saying, "who was that?" and "why did so and so do that?" So, lets take a look at some questions you might have, dissect them a little and make our own predictions. I promise that I haven't looked at any spoilers for this season yet, so what you're about to read comes straight from my own aquabatty theories and logic.
1. Who is Pierre Chang's/ Dr. Marvin Candle's baby? - My guess is Myles. I believe this for a few reasons: he's Asian, has the gift of hearing spirits, and has a calmness on the island.
2. Jin - Is he dead or did he jump? - Here's the thing, not once in either episode was Jin announced dead. However, if he did jump and survive, is he still back in season 4 time or season 5 flashing sky time? My prediction: Jin survived, but is stuck in the middle.
3. Is Locke dead? - I say no. I actually believe a few different things. I'm kinda leaning towards Locke being Jacob. However, he may just be dead enough to be brought back to life on the island.
4. The whispers - OK follow me here - I believe that the whispers on the island are alive people that are on the island at another time (but also in that same time- sort of) in the exact spot where they're heard. Kind of like a different dimension type of thing. So like when Juliet heard the whispers before seeing Harper in season 4, it was like something else was going on in that exact spot where Juliet was standing, but because it was in a different time, Juliet couldn't see them, just hear them.
5. Ben knows who everyone is - Ben knows who everyone is because he's seen it all before. He has relived this time and time again. It's just like Locke knowing who Ethan is. Ethan had know idea who Locke was because in Ethan's history they had never met, but in Locke's history they did. If Locke would have actually sat and had a conversation with Ethan prior to Charlie shooting him, Locke could have said, "Ethan don't shoot me in the leg. I know who you are. Your name is Ethan. Your dad is so and so. Your birthday is such and such." Ben does that with everyone. Your name is this. You do that. Your birthday is such and such....
6. The rules - Ok so we know that life is like a piece of string - huh? No, but really they move forward and backward but can't change anything. They all have an ultimate destiny - which is why Michael couldn't kill himself. We also know that there are RULES! We can't go back and kill Hitler. However, Keamy did kill Ben's daughter Alex and "changed the rules" and Ben is dumbfounded. So, what does it all mean? I haven't the foggiest. I think it means, kinda like the movie Final Destination, you can't do anything to change the future because it will ultimately catch up with you. Which brings me to my next thought...
7. Charlotte - Her nose was bleeding. I believe she was getting the "sickness" that Frenchie Rousseau kept blabbering about way back when. These are my thoughts - The island jumped into the future at one point and I believe that's when Charlotte's nose started bleeding. If life is a string that has an end point, but somehow you jump past that end point, your body will need to catch up. I think that's what happened. I think the island jumped into the future, passing Charlotte's point of death, causing her nose to bleed and brain to become scrambled. Thus, in order to course correct, she'll have to die. On a small side note, I believe Charlotte is Ben's childhood friend, Annie.
8. Kate's paternity test - I believe Sun ordered it. I believe Sun is now evil and resents Kate for killing Jin and saving her own ass. Let's remember a few things about Sun - 1) she is her father's daughter, 2) she cheated on Jin, 3) she killed Colleen on Desmond's sailboat. But before she pulled the trigger Colleen said something like, "you are not the enemy, but if you kill me that is what you'll become." PLUS, it just so happens that those guys come to Kate's door asking for the blood sample and then minutes later Kate gets a call from Sun saying she's in town. Sun - wearing red (evil/also death color). Her conversation/questioning sounds very manipulative. When asking Kate who came to the house and hearing Kate's answer - Sun doesn't even sound surprised? Sun is so resentful that Kate stuck baby Aaron in Sun's arms on the freighter and said she would get Jin and never did, that I believe Sun has it out for Kate. Plus, Sun throws in that little dig at the end, "So, how's Jack?" Like, how's your love life, since I don't have one.
9. Hurley's mom - I love her. Just had to say that.
10. Hurley - I love him too. If you have know idea what LOST is about just listen to what he tells his mom. His one minute explanation pretty much sums up what LOST is about.
11. Why shoot Sayid with darts? - Why not kill Sayid? Did they know he couldn't die because it wasn't his time?
12. Mrs. Hawking - First let me say I believe she is Dan Faraday's mom who Desmond has to meet in Oxford. Now let me remind you that she is the lady behind the counter where Desmond goes to buy the engagement ring for Penny way back when. After she gives him a ring, then she asks for it back, Desmond won't return it. Then she tells him she knows him, what he needs to do, and what will happen in the future. She is the one who tells Desmond to go to the island and push the button and turn the failsafe key. She also explains about how the universe has a way of course correcting itself (like the movie Final Destination). Now here's my question - Did SHE go back in time to tell Desmond what he had to do in the future? I say probably so. By the way - if you check out her chalk board take a look at the upper right side and you'll see a picture of what looks like the island. AND, is she in an off island hatch? Geez, I wish I took a Physics class.
13. Original Blue Van/Original Orchid Station - It looks as if it was built in the 1970's. I'm guessing by wardrobe, camera equipment, plus we have Willie Nelson's, Shotgun Willie 1973 record skipping on the record player, just like the island eventually does, and just like Faraday explains.- So what exactly was on the island before?
14. Richard Alpert - Besides that fact that he's found the way to eternal youth - he says a few very important things while taking out Locke's bullet- 1. in reference to "gotta get the bullet out" he says, "YOU will tell me" about the bullet- which I believe means, it's happened before or in the future he told Alpert that he was shot in the leg by Ethan, 2. When Locke asks "when am I," he answers, "that's all relative" meaning time is a relative thing, 3. When Locke asks when the sky lit up where Alpert went, he replies, "I didn't go anywhere, you went." This brings me back to my whispers theory, in which I believe one can stand in the same place, while another travels to that same place through history (both standing in the same place and different times, in the same moment - because TIME IS RELATIVE). However, I wonder, if the island is moving and taking Locke with it, why isn't Alpert going with it (according to him)?
15. Arrow attacks - I'm guessing waaaaay back when. Who the heck uses arrows over guns? I'm guessing they used arrows because it wasn't modern times. Actually, through my research I came across a group of men called the English Archers during the 14th and 15th centuries. Remember the accents! So, while that would be a super long jump backwards, who knows on LOST. I mean the Black Rock ship was from 1845 and came from England, so who knows.
16. Adam & Eve - These were the names of the skeletons that Locke found in a cave in season 1. I'm bringing them up because I'm wondering if anyone has already seen their own skeletons. I'm going out on a limb here and saying they're either Kate and Sawyer or Desmond and Penny. Guess we'll have to wait ad see.
17. Ana Lucia and Libby - Maybe Hurley is special and not schizophrenic. Maybe he has the ability to see people in time. Since "time is relative" does that mean death is relative too? If death is relative too, especially if you die on the island, then Hurley isn't seeing dead people, he's seeing people relative to his lifetime.
18. Claire - We never saw her die, but we did see her hanging out with her dead father in Jacob's cabin. We also saw her visit Kate. Is she aware that the island is doing the time warp?
19. Juliet's hand - I'm thinking about the men in uniforms who grab Juliet by the hair and immediately wants to chop off her hand. Could these guys possibly be the link to how Dr. Marvin Candle eventually loses his hand?
20. Locke's constant - Must be Richard Alpert or the compass. Remember way back when Richard Alpert visited little Locke and presented several items to him (a baseball glove, book of laws, comic book, sand, knife, and a compass) then asked him to pick the one that was his. Unfortunately for Locke he chose wrong and picked the knife. But now we know he should have picked the compass. By the way, if you remember back to that episode I belive there was a child-like drawing of a smoke monster hung up on the wall. I guess Locke had already met Mr. Smokey at some time. We know Locke wasn't born on the island because we saw his birth, so how would he already know what is his in the future and elements of the island? hmmmmm

LOST in bliss

Ahhhh it begins again. The anticipation was killing me. We can finally see LOST tonight with TWO new season premiere episodes! Make sure to set your DVRs. If you're lucky to have two, set the DVR in the living room, as well as the one in the bedroom - just in case. You never know what can disappear right in front of your eyes, especially when it comes to LOST!
For laughs, I've decided to provide you with my tentative LOST season premiere schedule for all to see. For those that know me personally, I'm not a scheduling type. I'm an easy going person, who takes my time and enjoys life as it comes. Not tonight! Not on Wednesday January 21, 2009! Nope. Today is a special day!
9:00 AM - wake up (I don't have to be at work until 2:30) check the DVR and make sure LOST is set
9:00 -12:00 PM - eat breakfast, take a shower, do some reading for school, check out facebook...
12:00 PM - leave for the day BUT before i go - CHECK THE DVR A FEW MORE TIMES AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS 100%
2:30 PM -work
6:30 PM - leave work and go out to dinner for my wonderful sister-in-law's birthday dinner.
6:40 PM - finish dinner and cake (just kidding)
OK so here I'll be at dinner and totally paranoid about my DVR. I'll be wondering if some kind of weird magnetic interference reset my DVR? Did a plane fall out of the sky and crush my TV? Did a bunch of mercenaries come by and bomb my house and now I'm left without my DVR, TV or any of my LOST McFarlane figures?
7:00 PM - by this time I'll be thinking, damn in one hour the 8:00 LOST recap starts. Then I reassure myself that it's OK because I've never missed an episode and I know everything about LOST. I don't really need the recap.
8:45 PM - if we're still in the restaurant I'll start sweating from panic because in 15 minutes LOST will begin. Then I'll begin to wonder if I ever set the DVR.
8:50 PM I'll burst out yelling, "WE HAVE TO GO BACK!" Everyone in the restaurant will look at me and I'll run out. If my husband's not with me, too bad. He can catch a ride with one of his family members.
8:55 PM - I'll be racing home, while being followed by the police, imagining that my speedometer reads 4815162342. When I finally get pulled over for speeding, after crashing through a pile of papayas, I'll hope the officer was Ana Lucia's partner, Big Mike. When Big Mike approaches the car I'll explain my hurry and he'll let me go of course.
8:59 PM - On my couch, TV on, DVR working.
9:00 PM - watching "Because you Left"
10:00 PM - watching "The Lie"
11:00 PM -watching "Because You Left" in slow motion looking for easter eggs while checking out Darkufo, Docartz and Thefuselage
12:00 AM - watching "The Lie" in slow motion looking for easter eggs while checking out Darkufo, Docartz and Thefuselage
1:00 AM - going to sleep with the biggest smile on my face
If things don't go as planned, I made sure my mom has her DVR set to LOST too! You can never be too safe. One day, I'll have to tell you about the time my DVR reset and LOST was never recorded. That was a sad day in my LOST history.
HAPPY LOST DAY! (and Happy Birthday to my sis-in-law)
Namaste

Dr. Manhattan for sale

It's about freaking time this dispute was settled. Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox have finally put their differences to rest over this year's much anticipated film, The Watchmen. The good news for fans is that the movie will open as planned on March 6, 2009. The even better news...wait for it...The official Watchmen action figures are now available for pre-order!!! Check out www.watchmencomicmovie.com for a detailed description of each figure. So far they have a limited edition of Dr. Manhattan (available 2/25), Rorschach (available 3/11) and the Comedian (available 2/11). The really cool thing is that there were only 5000 of these specific action figures made. The weird thing is that they made Rorschach without his inkblot mask in this series. However, they made a whole other series of action figures all due out in February 09 (eight figures in all), plus collector figures and movie busts.

Now You Can Use The Force
.jpg)
This year's CES show featured one of the coolest products I've definitely dreamed about several times before. The Force Trainer helps you develop your Jedi skills and move things with your mind. Sounds crazy, right? Not anymore. The Force Trainer, created by Uncle Milton Industries, comes with a head piece that reads brain waves, and with enough concentration you can manipulate a ball through a clear sphere. NO HANDS NEEDED - just a furrowing brow! This is one of the first mass-market brain-to-computer products. Still think it's impossible? Get this - the product is simply using the same technology that doctors use to read the brain's EEG waves; it's just a simplified version. Of course the Force Trainer has cool sound effects too, because who wants to move stuff with their mind in silence. The product is supposed to be out by the end of 2009 for about $90-$100.
I personally can't wait for this. But I can picture it now: men trying to open the refrigerator door by use the force because they're to lazy to get off the couch and kids bursting blood vessels trying to move cars with their minds. I wonder what Yoda would think.

Criss Angel is a Douche Bag

Apparently, I'm not the only one who has an opinion about Criss Angel. "Criss Angel is a Douche Bag" is the title of Supernatural's next episode, airing January 22, 2009. After checking over the cast for this episode it looks like he doesn't even make an appearance. So now I'm wondering if his disappearing act is what rewarded him the title of "douche bag." According to the episode description on the CW, this week's show sends Dean and Sam to a town full of old-school magicians to investigate a mysterious death. Let's hope, for Mr. Angel's sake he makes a surprise appearance in order to redeem himself or maybe he's just to busy in Las Vegas with his Playboy bunny.

LOST meets X-Men

"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" premieres in theaters on May 1, 2009. As if that wasn't enough to get excited about, X-Men has actually cast a few LOST actors as some of the mutants.

No, I didn't say "banned from TV," I said, "Band From TV." Yep, some of our faves were on Jay Leno last night showing off a different side of their talent.

Obama meets Spider-Man

On Tuesday January 20, 2009, Barack Obama will be America's new President. In the eyes of many American's Obama is already a hero. However, Marvel Comics has gone one step further. Marvel is featuring Obama and his favorite superhero, Spider-Man, in a comic book entitled, "Spidey meets the President." The comic, displaying both Obama and Spidey on the cover, is about photographer Peter Parker who sees two Obama's on inauguration day. It's Spider-Man's job to save the real Obama and inauguration day. The story is written by Zeb Wells, with art by Todd Nauck and Frank D'Armata. The AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #583 comic became available January 14th, 2009.

Star Trek on Steroids

So I have to be honest here. I was never a big fan of Star Trek. Star Wars was always my thing. However, I think this year, JJ Abrams, will change my mind. Anything JJ touches instantly becomes a favorite of mine!!! Not only is JJ Abrams doing Star Trek, we have a whole bunch of LOST and Fringe people here making this movie - Damon Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Roberto Orci, and Alex Kurtzman. I mean you honestly couldn't have a better team making a movie! But wait, there's even more. Why not throw a little Heroes into the mix. Zachary Quinto, aka Sylar, will be playing Spock. Crazy, right! It's like someone took all my favorite shows, mixed them in a blender and gave it steroids!
